Cable Jacketing Materials

In outdoor applications, cables are exposed to harsh environmental conditions, including UV radiation from sunlight. UV absorbers are incorporated into cable jacketing materials to prevent UV-induced degradation, such as discoloration, embrittlement, and loss of mechanical properties. This ensures that the cable's protective jacket remains intact and maintains its integrity over time.

Light stabilizers, particularly HALS hindered amine stabilizers, are employed to protect cable jacketing materials from the effects of light exposure. They help prevent the breakdown of the polymer chains due to light-induced degradation, maintaining the cable's strength and flexibility.

Insulating Materials

Antioxidants play a critical role in insulating materials used in cables. They prevent oxidation, which can lead to the deterioration of the insulating layer over time.
